9/11 Memorial Run
September 10-11th, 2021
Our Mission
May we always remember and honor their sacrifice.
Starting on the 10th of September at 1600L, a 9/11 vigil run/walk will be executed to honor those who lost their lives at the World Trade Centers (WTC).
Each participant will elect to run "X" amount of miles. At each mile marker, they will stop and read the biography of a WTC victim (assigned to them prior to the event). Upon concluding their run, participants will light a candle for each person they ran for, helping to build out a 9/11 memorial on base.
Our goal is to run a total of 2,606 miles to honor friends, family, and fellow service members whose lives were taken prematurely during the attack on September 11th.

Race Info
Who: Open to All DOD personnel +family members w/base access
Date: Sept. 10th - 11th, 2021 (Fri-Sat)
Time: 1600l - 1600l (24hrs / 20 Min Slots)
Location: Keesler AFB (Flight Line Track)
Safety: All COVID-19 + PHEO 12 guidelines will be adhered to. Large, unmasked, gatherings outdoors will be avoided if 6+ feet of social distancing is not available. CPR/AED-trained personnel will be on-site for the duration of the event. The event may be postponed or delayed due to inclement weather (hurricanes and lightning). Gatorade + a few snacks will be available for emergencies. Participants are expected to bring their own hydration sources to help mitigate the COVID threat.
